5 Steps to Boosting Your Intuition

Updated: Nov 16, 2019

Have you ever had an “intuitive” experience? One where you seemed to “know” what the outcome would be, even though you had no idea how you knew? The feeling can be in your head, that inner voice, or in your heart or in your belly commonly known as a “gut feeling”. It’s available to everyone, no matter what they may choose to call it.

But, what most people don’t realize is that intuition is actually a skill — one that can be learned, practiced and mastered. We all have it and we can all use it.

Imagine what you would be able to do with your life, if you somehow already had a “gut feeling” about those important decisions you were going to make in the near future.

Imagine if somehow you could master this “skill” of intuition and be able to make better choices, eliminate potential problems before they started to hurt you, and experience greater success, happiness and fulfillment by staying true to your purpose.

As as child I naturally tapped into my own intuition and communicated with spirits easily. During my teen years and early 20's I got off track a bit, although not completely, but just enough to mess up more times than I should have. A life lesson for sure. As an adult I got it back together and found mentors and teachers to help me strengthen my skills and get back to relying on my inner voice to the point that I now use it all the time. Even for the littlest of things.

So, let's get started...

#1. Find solitude

I've always been one of those people who needs quietalone time. Try to find at least 30 min. daily of quiet solitude. Meditation is important and helpful, but this isn't what I'm talking about. This time of solitude can be anywhere you are not distracted, indoors or outdoors. This is your time to get in touch with you. To get familiar with your inner voice and how it communicates with you. It's a time to let the thoughts easily come and go, no forcing, just listening. With practice, that inner voice will get louder and clearer.

#2. Get in touch with another Now you've most likely done this before. Think of a time when you've been with a friend that's feeling down or happy. Or when you've been in a crowd of people you don't know and you pick up on someone's feeling of uneasiness. When you do this, you're picking up on another human being. (This works with animalstoo) Strengthening this skill is important because our lives have everything to do with people. Once you've gotten stronger with this skill, finding that special someone, or business partner or group of friends will bring about more positive outcomes.

#3 Trust those vibes Now everyone has "vibes", but few acknowledge them. The next time this happens to you, don't poo, poo it! Focus on the message, the feeling and ask yourself what it could mean. The message could be good or not. There are endless stories out there about people getting a bed feeling about going down a street they travel all the time but that one day or night their inner voice says not this time only to find out later there was a horrible accident. You know those stories. With practice, those vibes will become clearer and you'll listen even though you may think it's silly.

#4 Practice wondering This is a great game to play. Just ask yourself, "I wonder...?" Then see what comes to mind. Don't force it, but look at the first thing that pops into your head no matter how silly or trivial. This allows your mind to go beyond reasonable thinking and dig down into your intuition.

#5 The Money Game When it comes to making money, most people squash their intuition and get all business like. Not good! This is a very important time to rely on that intuition of yours. Have you ever questioned which path to take with your career...hello! So many people wander through life with no clear path of where they want to be or do. They try one thing after another, which is not only time-consuming, but costly and often painful. Next time you have a money or career question, tap into your intuition. Your own inner voice already knows which path to take. You may resist the answer, but if you take your own advice, in the long run you'll realize the best possible outcome was to follow your intuition.

Remember, the more often you listen to your intuition the louder its voice will become and the sharper your sixth sense will become. You'll develop a more intimate connection to your own spiritual guidance, and sharpen your sixth sense. I personally have used these techniques often. But there have been times I haven't listened and kicked myself for it. If they work for me, I know they'll work for you too.
